2025 Porsche Cayenne GTS adds power, sharpness, and bronze

When Porsche updated the third-generation Cayenne for the 2024 model year, they decided to prioritize releasing the Turbo and E-Hybrid trims over the GTS. However, the Gran Turismo Sport trim, known for its focus on driving performance and luxury, will be leading the charge for the Cayenne's 2025 model year releases. This updated trim will feature increased power and some technology borrowed from the Cayenne Turbo.

The 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine now generates 40 more horsepower and 30 more pound-feet of torque compared to the 2023 Cayenne GTS, resulting in peak figures of 493 hp and 487 lb-ft. This surpasses the Cayenne S while falling slightly short of the Cayenne S E-Hybrid. Power is transferred through an eight-speed transmission to both axles, with Sport mode promising shorter shift times.

Borrowing technology from the Turbo GT Coupe, engineers have implemented front-axle pivot bearings to enhance turn-in response by adjusting the front wheels' camber. Additionally, the water-cooling circuit from the Turbo GT aids in maintaining optimal temperatures during prolonged high-performance driving. Standard features include trim-specific tuning for the air suspension and a torque vectoring rear differential, with the option of Porsche's new active anti-roll suspension.

The GTS model comes equipped with Porsche's Sport Design Package as standard, featuring gloss black accents on greenhouse trim, rockers, and fender garnish, replacing the previous body-colored trim. Dark bronze exhaust tips replace the previous black ones, with GTS Coupe variants offering three lightweight packages that include center-exit bronze tips, reducing the SUV's curb weight by up to 55 pounds. Tinted headlights and taillights are standard, along with 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels featuring red brake calipers.

Inside, the Cayenne GTS boasts the latest features introduced with the latest Cayenne update, along with GTS-exclusive touches such as suede-like Race Tex upholstery paired with leather and accented with red stitching. Black upholstery is standard, with Slate Gray and Carmine Red options available post-launch. Porsche has also enhanced the sports seats with additional bolstering for added comfort and support.
